Cork is harvested every nine years on a sustainable basis, without any trees being cut in the process. The bark is stripped off the tree in sections without hurting the trunk by highly skilled professionals, always between May and August. A cork oak tree can live, on average, 200 years, and can be harvested up to 20 times during its life cycle, making cork a truly inexhaustible natural resource. So, this lounge coffee table is sustainable.
